KGID 2024: Korea Green Innovation Days in Jeju
Hosted by the World Bank and Jeju Special Self-Governing Province | November 4–6, 2024
The Korea Green Innovation Days (KGID) 2024, organized by the World Bank’s Korea Green Growth Trust Fund (KGGTF), took place in Jeju Island as a global platform to accelerate green innovation and inclusive climate solutions. This 13th edition of KGID brought together policymakers, experts, and institutions from over 20 countries.
Jeju, as co-host and a living case study of green growth, showcased its “2035 Carbon Neutrality Vision” and highlighted initiatives including:
100% renewable energy and green hydrogen in electricity, transport, and shipping
Large-scale offshore wind, hydrogen power, EV infrastructure, and waste-to-energy projects
Strong citizen participation and innovation-led partnerships across sectors
The agenda featured high-level plenary sessions, breakout tracks on energy, transport, water, and smart agriculture, and on-site visits to Jeju’s cutting-edge energy and environment projects. Jeju’s leadership reaffirmed its global role in climate action and sustainable development.
